ARTIST BIOS:

Philip Vaiman is a Russian-born American violinist who continues the great Russian string-playing tradition. Philip Vaiman started his professional career at the age of 4. By the time he had graduated from Moscow's renowned Gnessin Musical Lyceum, he had performed asa soloist and chamber musician all over Russia, England, Israel and Cyprus. As a participant in the Special program "New Names in Russian Art and Music", he

made recordings for the Russian National Radio Network and the National Television.

 

Mr. Vaiman came to the United States in the early 1990s. He gratudated Cum Laude from the University of Southern California with a Master of Music Degree and went on to win numerous awards and honors including membership in the National Music Honor Society.

He has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in major halls across the world and has performed at international festivals including Huddersfield International Music Festival, England, Spoleto Music Festival, Italy, Music Festival of Pitea, Sweden, Hvar International Summer Festival, Croatia, and Soesterberg International Music Festival, Netherlands. His concerts have won the admiration of audiences, and critical acclaim in the major newspapers throughout Russia, United States, England, Sweden and the Netherlands. 

         Philip Vaiman’s solo recordings are featured on the soundtracks of award-winning motion pictures, documentaries, animated films and commercials. Mr. Vaiman appeared on both soundtrack and camera in the blockbuster “Spider Man 3”. Philip Vaiman is featured on a soundtrack of the 2007 Oscar-winning film “West-Bank story” He also collaborated with such artists as Placido Domingo, Andrea Boccelli, Tony Bennett, Shakira, Mexican superstar Juan Gabriel, Persian cultural icon Googoosh, Dwight Yoakam,  Lindsey Lohan as well as rock bands such as Guns N' Roses, Goo Goo Dolls, and KISS. Mr. Vaiman is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Theatre “La Camerata”. Recent performances by "La Camerata" include concerts at the historical Clark Library in Los Angeles, The House of Lords in London and Bruman Chamber Music Festival at UCLA.

Maksim Velichkin is an accomplished cellist, pianist, and harpsichordist who has been active as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestra artist among an international circle featuring venerable conductors and headlining classical stars. He has worked with James Levine, Kurt Masur, Charles Dutoit, Yuri Temirkanov, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Herbert Blomstedt, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Gabor Takacs-Nagy, Sarah Chang, Masaaki Suzuki, Maxim Vengerov, Yuri Bashmet, Andras Schiff, Bobby McFerrin, Joshua Bell, Martha Argerich, Gabriela Montero, Renaud Capucon, Lynn Harrell, Misha Maisky, Frans Helmerson, Sergey Babayan as well as many others. Maksim’s performances have been featured on Radio Suisse Romande, WQED FM in Pittsburgh, National Radio and Television of Uzbekistan. Moreover, as an improviser and interpreter of contemporary and popular music Maksim’s performance and recording career includes credits with Stevie Wonder, Chick Corea, Billy Childs, Burt Bacharach, Bobby McFerrin, Dwight Trible, Bitter:Sweet, Chris Botti, Bob James, Josh Groban, Red Elvises, Bernadette Peters, Natalie Cole, Alan Silvestri, Richard Thompson and many others.
