 ARTIST BIO:

Tae Yeon Lim is known for her powerful performance style, combining energetic delivery with an intelligent touch. Originally from South Korea, Yeon Lim currently lives in Los Angeles where she is active as a pianist and conductor.

Revealing a musical talent at an early age, she was 11 when selected to perform Mozart’s “Concert Rondo” with the Sorisam Chamber Orchestra. She was also invited to perform in the prestigious Chosun Journal Young Artist Debut Series at Sejong Arts Hall in Seoul.

Yeon Lim studied at the Manhattan School of Music with the pioneering American pianist James Tocco and Kumi Ogano, continuing to earn her D.M.A. at the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music, where

her mentors were the renowned piano pedagogues Stewart Gordon and later Sergei Silvansky.

Her recording of Joachim Raff’s “Complete Music for Cello and Piano,” released on the British Toccata Classics label, includes the world premiere of the Swiss composers “Sonata for Piano and Cello Op.183.” 

Her solo recitals have included performances at the Richard Nixon Presidential

Library and Museum, the Brand Library and Arts Center, and the Alhambra Performing Arts Center.

An active concerto soloist, Yeon Lim has performed with orchestras throughout Southern Asia and California, including the Los Angeles Sinfonietta and the Vicente Chamber Orchestra.

A passionate chamber musician, she has collaborated with members of the Capitol Ensemble and many other prestigious musicians in Los Angeles and San Diego and participated in concert series at “Great Music at St.

James,” Classical Sundays at 6, Chamber Music @ All Saints, Beverly Hills and Le Salon de Musiques. 

A versatile artist, Yeon Lim has emerged not only as a pianist of note and as a sought after teacher. She is currently curator of the chamber music series at St. Timothy Catholic Church in West LA where she is also the music director.
