of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra under
Maestro Mario Venzago, as well as a double
prize winner in the 2008 Primrose
International Viola Competition.

Julie Metz is a member of the Long Beach Symphony.

Ralph Alberstrom received his B.A. from UCLA where
he studied music theory and composition with Roy Harris
and Henri Lazarof and chamber music with Stanley Plummer.
He received his M.M. degree at USC under the tutelage of
Gwendolyn Koldofsky, Brooks Smith and Malcolm Hamilton (harpsichord).
Currently in demand in the greater Los Angeles area as a teacher and
accompanist, Mr. Alberstrom has collaborated in recital with or in the
masterclasses of Erick Friedman, Sherry Kloss, Aaron Rosand, Pierre

Ralph Alberstrom received his B.A. from UCLA where
he studied music theory and composition with Roy Harris
and Henri Lazarof and chamber music with Stanley Plummer.
He received his M.M. degree at USC under the tutelage of
Gwendolyn Koldofsky, Brooks Smith and Malcolm Hamilton (harpsichord).
Currently in demand in the greater Los Angeles area as a teacher and
accompanist, Mr. Alberstrom has collaborated in recital with or in the
masterclasses of Erick Friedman, Sherry Kloss, Aaron Rosand, Pierre
Amoyal, Ruggiero Ricci, Gilbert Reese, Dr. Charles Baker, Lynn Harrell,Paul Stein, Louis Kievman, Martin Chalifour and

The musicians of the FIATO String Quartet currently have
active concert careers throughout Southern California.
Their talents can be heard in the orchestras of Pasadena,
Los Angeles Opera, New West, Santa Barbara Symphony,
Santa Barbara Chamber, Riverside, San Bernardino,
Redlands and Musica Angelica Baroque.
Each member of Fiato brings a unique set of experiences
and training to the ensemble, having studied with the
Tokyo, Takacs, Guarneri, American, Miami and Emerson
Quartets.
The Fiato Quartet has come together out of a love for
chamber music and a common goal to share this passion
