Artist Bios: 
 

Johana Krejci was born in Prague, Czech Republic.   She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the Prague Conservatory, where she studied violin performance with Professor Nora Grumlikova.  She then furthered her musical studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London and continued her advanced studies at USC.  In the summers of 1989 and 1990 she was a member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute.  Ms. Krejci has toured Europe with the Prague Chamber Opera and has done extensive concert work with numerous orchestra and chamber ensembles throughout the world.  She has since made her home in Southern California where she teaches violin and freelances with many local orchestras, chamber groups and recording studios.  She has just recently founded the Brendan Trio with Brendan White and Kevan Torfeh.

Pianist Brendan White has appeared as soloist with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, Musica Nova (Eastman School of Music), and the Delta Symphony Orchestra. White’s collaborations in Southern California have included the Mühlfeld Trio, which won the prestigious Beverly Hills Auditions, the Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra, the Speakeasy Society, and Eighteen Squared. He is also a founding member of the Sunset ChamberFest in Los Angeles:www.sunsetchamberfest.com Local recital appearances include: Glendale Noon Concerts, Pasadena Presbyterian Music at Noon, Music@Mimoda, Mason Concerts, Emerging Artist Series Recital at Boston Court.

White was born and raised in Tennessee before attending Eastman to study with Thomas Schumacher, and then, the University of Southern California, with Kevin Fitz-Gerald, where he was awarded Outstanding Master’s Graduate of the Thornton School of Music. As a devoted performer of new music, he has worked with notable composers and conductors including Thomas Adès, Donald Crockett, Alan Pierson, Steven Stucky and Jeffrey Milarsky.

Kirstin Fife holds a Master of Music Degree in violin performance from Yale University and a Bachelor of Music Degree, also in violin performance from the University of Southern California. As a freelance musician, Ms. Fife has had a very eclectic career, including performances as recording artist, chamber musician, soloist, and orchestral musician. For many years she recorded for records, movie and television soundtracks, including projects for Michael Jackson, Natalie Cole, and Madonna, movies including “Meet Joe Black,” “Nemo", “Mission Impossible”, several seasons of Jag and many incarnations of the StarTrek series. She has appeared backing many prominent artists on the Tonight Show, Grammy Awards, Country Music Awards, American Music Awards, and the MTV Movie Awards. Also, Ms. Fife has performed for the Emmy Awards and the Academy Awards. !
As soloist, she has released two solo CD’s, “Czechmate” and “Pieces Of My Heart”.! Ms. Fife has been a recitalist for fundraising causes, including Alzheimer’s Foundation, The Red Shirt Project, and Hope Gardens (Union Rescue Mission).

Besides performing, her other activities include composer, adjudicator, teacher, and coach. She is a frequent adjudicator for various competitions including Voce, Certificate of Merit, Southwest Youth Music Festival, ASTA, and the Bach Festival. In November of 2009, she was awarded the prestigious Alumni Ventures Grant from Yale University, for her work helping homeless children to learn violin. In 2013, Ms. Fife had her composition Cornicopia performed by the Los Angeles Horn Trio. Currently, Kirstin Fife is dividing her time between teaching, performing, and composing.
