James Sullivan enjoys exploring the versatility of the clarinet in an expansive scope of styles and repertoire. In addition to the soprano clarinet, he specializes in the bass clarinet and performs on the Turkish G clarinet. He plays with music ensembles Freshly Squeezed, ensemble green, Jacaranda Music on the Edge series, the classical Arabic ensemble Kan Zaman and the belly dance band Youm It Talaata. His education includes Cleveland Institute of Music, Florida State University (B.M.), California Institute of the Arts (M.F.A.), and he has received instruction from David Howard, Frank Kowalsky, Sean Osborn, Julie Feves, Laura DeLuca, and Wael Kakish. He teaches at The Master's College, Pasadena Conservatory of Music and the Academy of Creative Education.

Now based in Los Angeles, violist Victor de Almeida

has most recently been the Guest Principal Violist

of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Principal

Violist of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra under

Maestro Paavo Järvi and the Associate Principal Violist

of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra under Maestro

Mario Venzago, as well as a double prize winner in the

2008 Primrose International Viola Competition.

Mr. Almeida studied at the Peabody Institute of Music,

while serving as the Principal Violist of the Annapolis

Symphony Orchestra and as a regular substitute violist

with the Baltimore Symphony.

CATHERINE DEL RUSSO -oboe

Catherine Del Russo is always searching for
new or unfamiliar works for the oboe.
On a recent trip to Prague, she found
a trove of oboe music by contemporary Czech
composers at the famous Talacko music store
( www.talacko.cz ).
Del Russo and Andrea Anderson were chosen to
perform this program at the 2011 International
Double Reed Society Annual Conference which
took place in June in Tempe, Arizona
( www.idrs.org ).

CATHERINE DEL RUSSO is Principal oboist
of the Santa Monica Symphony, the Downey
Symphony, and the English horn player of
the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. A graduate
of the Eastman School of Music, she teaches
oboe at Occidental College and Pepperdine
